Visit the PKBN's 3rd Pilot Project Training Camp of Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office has consented to visit the Training Camp of the Third Pilot Project of the national service programme, PKBN, at the Sports Village in Berakas, yesterday morning.

The 12-week-long third pilot project will conclude on 11th next month. His Royal Highness was greeted on arrival at the training camp by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair, Deputy Minister of Culture Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries of the relevant Ministries. His Royal Highness consented to inspect a guard of honour mounted by the trainees of the 3rd PKBN Pilot Project.

The project involved a total of 199 trainees comprising 129 male and 70 female youths aged between 16 to 21 years from various social backgrounds and educations. The visit reflects the care and concerns of His Royal Highness in regards to the development of the identity of the youths who are seen as assets in the development of the nation in the future.

During the 3rd session of the PKBN, the trainees underwent about 40 activities in their curriculum. Marching is one of these activities, developing values in the trainees such as discipline, teamwork and strengthened their mental and physical states. The physical and tough endurance activities that were included in the programme are aimed to develop the personal qualities of the trainees to be more determined, brave and strong-willed as well as self-confident in facing various challenges.

 

Doa selamat was read by the Head Religious Teacher of the 3rd Pilot Project of the PKBN, Awang Haji Afiq bin Zainudin. One of the activities included in the 3rd pilot project is paintball which is hoped to shape the trainees' attitudes to become more creative and innovative in carrying out an action or task.

In the Paintball Arena, His Royal Highness consented to shoot a target using paintball markers. The paintball programme was also included in the 1st and second pilot projects. It was handled by the Royal Brunei Technical Services under the supervision of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. The paintball arena is specially located at the Jerudong Sports Complex. From the paintball arena, His Royal Highness proceeded to the Lecture Hall.
